Short answer
A composite hose is a construction in which several film or fabric layers and support elements work together. It is not evaluated like a one-piece rubber hose; the inner and outer wire, layer materials and end assembly must be defined together.

Technical explanation
The conditions of use of a composite hose depend on the manufacturer's series and material selection. The condition of the layers and the inner and outer wire are of separate importance in visual inspection. The manufacturer's guide may set specific restrictions on bending, torsion, support and cleaning method. A characteristic such as length change under pressure is not a failure diagnosis on its own; it must be interpreted against the manufacturer's criterion. The name composite does not express the same suitability for every chemical or fuel.

How is it assessed in practice?
In the order, ask for the lining material, wire materials and end system in addition to the hose family. In the damage record, photograph outer wire displacement, fabric abrasion and end damage separately. During handling, apply the manufacturer's support method instead of suspending the hose from a single point. Do not copy the cleaning method from general rubber hose practice. For an unsuitable cleaning process, not exceeding the pressure or temperature limit is not on its own sufficient assurance.

Frequently asked questions
Can a composite hose be repaired like a rubber hose?
A general field repair should not be assumed. The authorized method and assessment of the manufacturer concerned are required.
