Short answer
Storage and daily inspection of composite hoses must be planned so as to protect the wire and layer construction. Sharp bending, torsion, dragging and unsuitable cleaning are prevented; the manufacturer's criteria are used for the acceptance of damage.

Technical explanation
The manufacturer's inspection guide lists displacement of the wire from its normal position, abrasion or corrosion, fabric damage, crushing and end fitting problems as separate inspection topics. The cleaning method is related to the application and the inner layer; a method taken from another hose family cannot be applied automatically. Looking good in storage does not rule out the effect of previous chemical or mechanical exposure. Service history, physical observation and inspection records are evaluated together.

How is it assessed in practice?
At the storage location, set up a labeling system showing the hose identification, last fluid used and cleaning status. Apply the manufacturer's support and coiling method instead of crushing the hose on a small-diameter hanger. In the pre-use inspection, mark the wire, fabric, bending and ends on separate lines. Do not put a suspect hose back in the same area as sound ones; define a quarantine area. Determine service life and test interval from the product instructions and the facility risk assessment, not from a general internet recommendation.

Frequently asked questions
Is displacement of the outer wire just a cosmetic issue?
It should not be treated as such. It is a sign that must be examined according to the manufacturer's damage assessment.
