Short answer
A post-crimp record must show the actual assembly and inspection result, not just the machine setting. The hose, fitting, ferrule, instruction revision, measured values, equipment and assembly identification must be kept traceable together.
Technical explanation
A verified assembly instruction defines the inspection criteria that must be applied. The target crimp value and the measured value are different data fields. One successful check does not show that all other requirements have been met. A later measurement or correction must be traced without deleting the previous record. The record structure proposed in this guide is a general traceability method; it does not replace a specific manufacturer's mandatory quality form.
Topic-specific checkpoints
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Identification | Assembly and component batches |
| Reference | Instruction and revision |
| Measurement | Target, tolerance and actual result |
| Process | Operator, equipment and nonconformance record |
How to evaluate it in practice
The sample record layout should include product codes, batch numbers, assembly length, A/B ends, work order, operator and inspection result. The target value and tolerance should be pulled only from the verified instruction. Do not copy the machine setting as if it were a measurement result. For a nonconforming assembly, open a segregation and re-evaluation status. Match the report to the physical hose it belongs to by means of the label. For record changes, keep a history that answers who, when and why.
Original editorial recommendation; not a clause of a standard.
Frequently asked questions
Can the machine setting value be written as the inspection result?
The setting and the actual measurement must be kept separate. The required measurement method must be applied according to the manufacturer's instructions.
