Short answer
A hose and a fitting having the same nominal size does not prove that they can be safely crimped together. The hose series, fitting series and assembly data must be treated as a verified system. A brand name alone is not a system approval.
Compatibility and pressure are two separate questions
Even if a part appears to have a suitable pressure rating, it may not be the correct series in terms of retention on the hose and sealing. Danfoss emphasizes its own approved hose-fitting combinations and assembly instructions. We do not generalize this warning as if other brands had an approval.

Recommended system approval record
- Hose manufacturer, full series code and size
- Fitting and ferrule series codes
- Skive/no-skive and the related assembly method
- Machine, die and assembly document designation
- Revision and date of the source document
- Which combination the manufacturer approval covers

Do not guess crimp data
The crimp diameter, tolerance, die or torque value for the actual product must be taken only from the current manufacturer instructions. Fields without a source must not be filled in by estimation.

Frequently asked questions
Is every hose of a brand compatible with every fitting of the same brand?
No. A brand name is not a substitute for approval; a manufacturer document is required for the specific series and size combination.
Original editorial recommendation; not a clause of a standard.
Can a generic crimp chart be used?
No. Crimp data is tied to the hose, fitting, ferrule, size and the manufacturer's system; a generic chart is not used without verified product-specific instructions.
