Short answer
Hose selection for an explosive atmosphere is not completed simply by asking for an antistatic product. The gas or dust hazard of the area, process conditions, electrical requirements, hot surfaces and the use of the entire assembly must be addressed through a competent risk assessment.
Technical explanation
An ATEX conformity assessment and an electrical resistance test of the hose are different matters. The assessment of a non-electrical part is also made on the basis of the product's function and possible ignition sources; the same result is not assumed for all passive parts. An ISO 8031 measurement can examine certain electrical properties, but on its own it does not constitute an ATEX certificate. The regulations and standards applicable to the product must be determined by an expert according to the facility and product scope.

How to evaluate it in practice
Before sending to the supplier, obtain the area classification and the required conformity scope from the facility's authorized department. Record the fluid carried by the hose and the surrounding atmosphere separately. Show clamps, couplings, wire connections and moving parts within the overall assembly. If the quotation says 'ATEX compliant', ask which product, protection approach and document this is based on. This guide does not make a regulatory or certification decision; it helps organize missing information for the assessment.
Original editorial recommendation; not a clause of a standard.
Frequently asked questions
Is an electrical continuity test an ATEX certificate?
No. A specific measurement result does not replace the ATEX conformity assessment of the entire product.
