Short answer
For cement and powder transfer hose, the dry/wet state of the material, conveying method, temperature, pressure/vacuum and electrical requirements must be defined. Dry powder transfer and concrete pumping are not the same application; product selection and connections are separated accordingly.

Technical explanation
In pneumatic powder conveying, the inner surface of the hose works with both solid particles and the carrier flow. A material being a fine powder does not mean its abrasive or electrical effects are insignificant. The inner tube, flexibility, bending and connection passages are examined together. If there is an explosive atmosphere assessment, electrical suitability cannot be inferred from the hose color or wire helix alone. The hazard properties of the material and the facility assessment should be reflected in the technical specification.

Topic-specific checkpoints
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Conveyed product | Powder/granule/mixture; moisture, temperature and material document. |
| Conveying method | Pneumatic, suction or a different process arrangement. |
| Mechanical conditions | Abrasion, bending, handling and coupling loads. |
| Electrical conditions | The facility's risk assessment and a measurable product requirement. |

How is it assessed in practice?
In the request, write the actual conveyed form, such as dry powder, granules or moist mixture, next to the trade name of the material. Treat tanker unloading and a fixed factory line as separate scenarios. For example, coupling and handling damage on a hose that is frequently installed and removed may differ from the cause of wear on a permanently fixed line. Do not set a life or general resistance limit based only on the name 'cement hose' without collecting operating data. If the abrasive and electrostatic properties of the material are unknown, do not decide on the hose construction and grounding method.

Frequently asked questions
Can a cement hose also be used on a concrete pump?
It cannot be used without explicit suitability of the product for that service. Name similarity does not equalize the pressure regime, material behavior and end connection requirements.
