Short answer
In sandblast hose, abrasion resistance and electrical behavior are assessed together. The abrasive type, grain size, operating condition, nozzle and connection system must be determined. The term 'antistatic' alone does not show that the entire assembly and facility are safe.

Technical explanation
An airflow carrying abrasive can create both mechanical and electrical requirements in the hose and connections. The hose's inner tube, diameter and connection passage must be suitable for the application. If electrical continuity or resistance measurement is required, its method, points and acceptance criterion are defined. A resistance limit given by a manufacturer for a specific product is not carried over as a universal limit to all sandblast hoses. The hose connection and the equipment manufacturer's instructions are also part of the file.

Topic-specific checkpoints
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Abrasive | Type, grain size and feed condition. |
| Flow path | Inside diameter, nozzle and connection passages. |
| Electrical check | Test method, end points and product-based acceptance condition. |
| Inspection | Internal/external wear, end retention and coupling condition. |

How is it assessed in practice?
In the recommended inspection, record the abrasive material, the hose used and the nozzle code together. Match the location of wear to the routing: if there is a restriction or sharp turn, write it as a separate finding. Do not close the electrical check record with just the word 'conductive'; state between which two points and by which method it was measured. The operator's safe system of work and personal protection are an area of responsibility separate from, but related to, hose selection.

Frequently asked questions
Does wrapping wire around the outside of the hose provide antistatic suitability?
Such a general solution cannot be recommended. The electrical design, assembly method and measurement conditions must be verified for the relevant product and facility.
