Short answer
In high-temperature hydraulic service, the conditions to be met jointly by the hose, fittings and seals must be defined. It is not assumed that the highest temperature and the highest pressure in the catalog apply at the same time. Fluid-dependent limits and any pressure derating rules are checked.

Technical explanation
Temperature resistance is not determined from the material family name or the appearance of the outer cover. The manufacturer may define different operating ranges for the same hose with different fluids. Proximity to an external heat source creates a load separate from the fluid temperature. In addition, the limits of the seal and connection components of the assembly are taken into account. It is not correct to use a short-term exposure statement as a permission for continuous operation; duration and repetition conditions must be read from the document.

Topic-specific checkpoints
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Internal temperature | Product limit depending on the fluid and duration. |
| External temperature | Hot surface, radiation and enclosed-space conditions. |
| Pressure pairing | Operating data valid together with the temperature. |
| Components | Separate limits of the seal, fitting and other parts. |

How is it assessed in practice?
In the application file, normal temperature, measured peak, time spent at peak and frequency of repetition are separate fields. If the previous hose hardened prematurely, investigate the actual exposure profile instead of just selecting a series rated for a higher temperature. For example, if airflow stops when the machine is idle, the idle condition should also be recorded. State clearly whether the selected solution is a heat sleeve, a routing change or a hose replacement, and which problem each one targets.

Frequently asked questions
Can a product's temperature range be stored as a single number?
At least the lower/upper limits, fluid, duration and pressure context should be stored separately. Otherwise, values belonging to different conditions may be combined incorrectly.
